The Original Prusa XL Enclosure is an optional accessory that seamlessly integrates with the Original Prusa XL 3D printer. It provides a stable printing environment with elevated temperatures, making printing with advanced materials (PCCF, Nylon, PP, ASA, and more) significantly easier. It eliminates drafts, prevents warping, and helps reduce odors while preventing the spread of ultrafine particles (UFP) in the air thanks to its advanced filtering system (HEPA filter, 99.9% efficiency). Additionally, the enclosure reduces printer noise and covers all moving parts of your printer.
The Original Prusa XL Enclosure is delivered as a disassembled kit.
Effortlessly Print Advanced Materials
The Original Prusa XL Enclosure simplifies printing with specific materials while providing many other benefits. Its advanced HEPA filtering system (99.9% efficiency) helps reduce odors and prevents the spread of ultrafine particles (UFP) in the air. The XL printer automatically manages the filtration, utilizing an airflow system that pulls air from below and expels it through the HEPA filter. You can monitor the temperature inside the enclosure using the thermometer on the enclosure door (display only) or via information on the printer’s display.
For materials that produce fewer particles and odors (like PLA and PETG), filtration is not used to extend the HEPA filter’s lifespan, but it can be manually activated. The XL printer also monitors HEPA filter usage and notifies you when it's time for a replacement. A new filter can be easily ordered from our e-shop. The enclosure includes an additional LED strip, synchronized with your XL printer, which not only illuminates the print area but also serves as a status indicator for the printer.
Stable Printing Environment
The enclosure creates a stable printing environment with elevated temperatures, protecting the printer from drafts and cold air bursts. This is ideal for printing high-temperature, advanced materials like PCCF, Nylon, PP, and more, which could otherwise warp. It also reduces dust buildup on moving parts, contributing to less frequent maintenance and ensuring smooth operation.
Advanced Filtering System
The filtering system is especially useful when printing with PC Blend Carbon Fiber and other materials that emit particles. It also reduces odor and prevents the spread of ultrafine particles (UFP) in the air during printing with specific materials.
High-Quality Components
The frame is made of metal, while the side walls and top are made of PETG plastic. The frame features mounting points for installing various additional printed parts, electronics, cameras, and other expansions, along with neat cable management. The enclosure also includes an additional LED strip that connects directly to the XL printer, synchronized with the built-in LED strips. This strip not only illuminates the print area but also serves as a printer status indicator.
Collapsible Cover
Some materials, like PLA, perform worse in high temperatures. That’s why we’ve developed a special magnetic collapsible cover that can be quickly folded to create better airflow and optimize conditions for these materials. This allows you to print any material without limitations. Made of high-quality and durable polyester and polyurethane, the collapsible cover takes up no extra space on the sides or in front of the printer, offering much better access to the entire print area compared to conventional hinged doors.
